Location Portrait Photography

Environmental portraits that say more about you and your space

Artist Tom Cartmill photographed in his studio near Reading in Berkshire.

I specialise in eye catching location portrait photography for business use. This can be carried out at your home, office or other location that is meaningful to you and your occupation.

Location, or environmental photography usually contains more background information than a studio portrait. Used on your website, company report or brochure, the location portrait can convey a feeling of the subject being more involved in their surroundings. Some of my clients say this style of photography lets viewers know more about their daily lives and work than a plain head and shoulders photograph or headshot.

Being photographed ‘in context’ says so much more about you and what you do. I always feel that you will be a bit more relaxed in your own surroundings and this comes across in the photographs. It can serve to make the image more interesting to look at as well and is often more appropriate for photographs of executives, CEO’s and other leaders. If you are considering location portrait photography as an alternative to the photo studio, call me on 0118 9885088 for a no obligation chat.

Shot in a small underground gym, I used a lighting setup designed to bring out shape and contours.
Some office environmental portraits. Being photographed with a slightly wider angle of view whilst at work conveys a totally different impression than head and shoulders portraits against a studio background.
A portrait of Ellie, a budding professional violinist. Photographed on location near Eversley in Hampshire. Taking musicians and other performers out of their normal performance environment results in a striking portrait that stands out.
